Albania is located in Southeastern Europe on the Balkan Peninsula. This small country started to participate in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2004. They placed seventh in the 2004 Grand Final that remained the country's best result in the contest until 2012 when Rona Nishliu placed fifth. Albania is looking forward to placing again at a hopefully higher spot in the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest. The country as chosen Jonida Maliqi as their singer along with the song Ktheju tokës (Return to the land).
